Turn Key Home - Good or Garbage?
What does buying a home turn key mean? Should I buy a turnkey home? Should I sell my home turnkey? Is it worth it? I see homes sold furnished and partially furnished. How is that different???
By definition Turnkey means ready-to-occupy. You turn the key and the home does not need any repairs, paint etc.
We have come to know turnkey meaning everything you need to live in the home down to forks, spoons and knives. I describe it as if you turned the home upside down and shook it; everything that comes out is yours.
But is that the case? You will also notice other terms used in the listing like furnished, partially furnished, some items are excluded, furniture sold separately. Is it a good idea to purchase your home Turnkey? Will the contents be good or garbage? Read on. Don’t miss my YouTube episode on the subject. You will find that below
You will also notice homes offered with the following options:
Turnkey, Furnished, Partially Furnished, any combination of the three with specific items that do not convey or Turnkey Package available seperately. Do you want to purchase others furniture and fixtures? Why do homeowners want to sell their home this way?
Why do sellers sell their home turnkey?
It was used as a rental property- selling turnkey makes it much more attractive for the buyer.
Homeowner passed away and the family doesn’t want to deal with it. This happens often.
Seller is moving out of state and does not want to move with them for a variety of reasons. For example the furniture will not work in their new home, or it is too costly to move.
